This Play was first presented by Michael Codron at the Theatre Royal, Brighton, U.K. in 1966, then at the Duke of York's Theatre, London, and at St. Martin's Theatre, Melbourne, in 1968.
The author wrote "I have purposefully used a farcical technique, not in order to make the play more palatable to an audience, but in belief that through laughter a facet of family truth can be accepted without loss of sanity perhaps I'm wrong. You're the judge.
