Bums on (better) seats!

Ladies and Gentlemen - throw away your cushions! The Lilydale ATC has placed an order to replace the auditorium seats.

The current seats have been in the theatre since the late seventies. They are showing considerable signs of age, despite a regular programme of repairs.

The new seats, which are slightly wider - and definitely more comfortable - will be installed after the last show for the year ("Are you being Served"). They will be ready by the first season in 2014.

As part of the refurbishment the seat raking will be adjusted to make the steps shallower and easier to navigate.

To offset some of the cost of the project, an opportunity will be offered for patrons to "adopt" a seat for $50 and have their names recorded on a board in the foyer.
