13 Lyrebird Awards for ATC
At the Lyrebird Awards ceremony in February 2012, the ATC won 13 awards - almost 25% of all the awards made! Of these 10 were for Justin Stephens' production of "The 39 Steps".
Overall the ATC received 41 nominations, including three for Best Production ('Allo 'Allo, Death of a Salesman and The 39 steps) and four for Best Director (all four 2011 productions).
"The 39 Steps" won awards in the Comedy section for Best Production, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Ensemble, Best Costume, Best Lighting. Best Set and Best Sound..
The ATC's other three 2011 productions each won one award - Best Set in a Musical or Variety under $30,000 ("They're Playing Our Song"), Best Lighting in a Drama ("Death of a Salesman") and Best Supporting Actress ("'Allo 'Allo").
In addition the ATC won a Judge's Award from Tim Long for the shadow effect seen during the chase and plane crash scene in "The 39 steps" and a Special Judge's Award for "They're Playing Our Song".
