As a result it has been a Mechanics' Institute, a library, a community hall, a performance stage, a lecture hall, a place of worship, a meeting room, a cinema, an indoor sports stadium, a roller skating rink, a military drill hall, a work room, a venue for political forums, a polling booth, a ballroom, a concert hall and even a museum. Since 1975 it has been the home of the Lilydale Athenaeum Theatre Company, regarded as one of Victoria's best non-professional drama companies. More | 41 Lyrebird nominations for ATC The 2011 Lyrebird Awards will be announced early in 2012. The Lilydale ATC has received a massive 41 nominations for these Awards, plus one Judge's Award. The nominations include three for Best Production ('Allo 'Allo, Death of a Salesman and The 39 steps) and four for Best Director (all four 2011 productions). The Judges award was from Tim Long for the shadow effect seen during the chase and plane crash scene in 'The 39 steps'. The full nomination list can be seen at

At the Victorian Drama League Awards presentation in November, the ATC was presented with SIX Gold Awards for Kevin Trask's production of "Death of a Salesman". Nine nominations were received overall. The Awards included Best Drama Production and Best Director of a Drama Production.

Joe Dias and Barry O'Neill were recognised for their roles as Biff and Willy Loman. Graham McGuffie received two Gold Awards - for set design and lighting design. Details of the Awards are: GOLD AWARD for Best Drama Production (The Victorian Drama League Perpetual Trophy- Donated by V F Trainor Trophies). GOLD AWARD for Best Director of a Drama Production (The Edna Chandler Perpetual Trophy, Donated by The Basin Theatre Group) - Kevin Trask. GOLD AWARD for Best Set Design in a Comedy or a Drama - Graham McGuffie. GOLD AWARD for Best Lighting Design in a Comedy or a Drama (The Frank Donahue Perpetual Trophy - Donated by The 1812 Theatre) - Graham McGuffie. GOLD AWARD for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama - Joe Dias as Biff. GOLD AWARD for Best Actor in a a Drama (The David Perkins Perpetual Trophy, donated by David Perkins) - Barry O'Neill as Willy Loman. |

Season ticket holders whose regular night is currently the first Tuesday of the season will be able to choose an alternative night for 2012 and beyond. Shows in the third week of each season will be unchanged, running from Tuesday to Saturday. There will also be a small increase in some ticket prices:
Normal tickets will remain unchanged at $25.00.
